Great fruit trees for this area

Mulberries
Black Beauty Mulberry
Large, glossy, deep purple-black berries with a rich, sweet-tart flavor like a good blackberry. It grows as a tree or a big shrub, fruits young and handles low desert heat easily. The fruit stains whatever is under the tree and birds love it, so plant it away from walkways, patios and parked cars.

Peaches
August Pride Peach
A large, sweet, aromatic yellow freestone and one of the better all-round peaches for Phoenix yards. It needs under 300 chill hours, so it sets fruit in most winters, and it ripens a few weeks after the May peaches for a second wave of fruit. Thin early for size and paint the trunk white to prevent sunburn.

Pomegranates
A.C. Sweet Pomegranate
Bred in Beaver Dam, Arizona, with red to pink skin, pink-to-light red arils, soft edible seeds and a sweet, refreshing flavor. The fruit can hang for weeks without splitting, and the plant takes temperatures below zero, which makes it the pomegranate for mid elevation as well as the low desert. Ripening still needs a warm fall.
