Saguaro
These conditions determine whether it will thrive.
Established saguaros handle brief dips to about 18°F. Young ones are tender at the growing tip, so cap the tip on hard freeze nights.
Leaves and wood: damaged below 18°FTakes full and reflected sun once settled in. Transplants sunburn easily, so replant them facing the same way they grew and use shade cloth through the first summer.

How to use it
How to help Saguaro thrive
- 1
Keep the original south face pointing south when transplanting.
- 2
Water sparingly, only in the warm season, and stop if the skin looks swollen.
- 3
Leave the nurse tree in place; it protects young saguaros from frost and sun.
- 4
Do not fertilize or prune.
